who will be presenting, and Jamie Buin
who will be demonstrating Sono site lx.
Daniel Shelton is the director
of musculoskeletal market development for Fujifilm SonoSite.
Daniel spent 18 years
as a dedicated musculoskeletal sonographer
and 12 of those years have been here at SonoSite.
He now leads musculoskeletal market development
where he works to spread the word about the benefits
of point-of-care ultrasound.
And I'll turn it over to you Daniel.
- Thank you Laura, for that introduction and we'll go ahead
and get started from the beginning.
We have worked side by side partnering with you to create

Let's focus on the redesign Sono site C 10 to three curve
and L 15 to four linear transducers.
The improved resolution
and the wider field of view makes deep
and shallow procedures easier, facilitating pain management.

The advanced image clarity also allows
for accurate visualization of anatomical details
and musculoskeletal procedures.
The image on the left is an adductor canal generated using
Sono Cyte LX
and the C 10 to three transducer with the nerve exam type.
The image on the right is
of the carpal tunnel generated using Cyte LX
and the L 15 to four transducer with the SK exam type.
The dedicated PIV exam type on the sono site L 19
to five transducer and now on the sono site, L 12 to three
and 15 to four transducers ensure
that the needle can be seen clearly in the image.
This is an image of a cephalic vein generated using Cyte LX
and the L 12 to three transducer with the PIV exam type.
Improved needle visualization
with auto steep needle profiling helps you clearly visualize
the needle shaft and tip for most precise injections
and aids in first time success
of expensive MSS K injections.
This shows user interface
and the image of an axillary nerve block generated using
socy LX and the L 15 to four transducer
with the nerve exam type
new onboard learning with access to both procedural
and perioperative education videos,
new Quadrat Lumborum erector spin
and PEX one and two videos.
New video controls include pause, rewind, and fast forward.
The user can change the language on the fly,
so even if you have an English user interface,
you could change the scan along tutorial to play in Spanish.
There is now system training included in the onboard
education videos with 12 dedicated videos
to ensure the user confidence specifically on using Sono lx.

We are gonna move on to our live demonstration out
of our virtual office virtual studio here at the office,
and I'm gonna turn it over to Jamie.
We will spotlight Jamie now.
- Thank you. Laura, - Go.
- Okay. So here with me I have our new SOCY LX premium
ultrasound system.
This was designed and developed to support users from novice
to advanced levels.
As you can see, the low profile foot low profile footprint
that allows for easy maneuverability within exam
rooms and through the halls.
There are height adjustment levers on the front
and each side of the base.
The cable management system in front allows
or prevents those cables
and transducer cords from being run over
or drug on the floor.
Even on its lowest setting, the user interface can tilt
to allow for efficient workflow during diagnostic exams
and procedures for optimal access
and for elevated image clarity, there's an adaptable large
clinical display monitor that extends
and rotates 180 degrees
and tilt to to a, to adapt
to the varied clinical environments at the bedside.
This allows for flexibility and control for optimal viewing.
During procedures to optimize workflow efficiency,
we have an intuitive touch panel
and tactile physical keys with quick access
to the most used controls as well as secondary controls.
On the clinical touch monitor, the clinical touch monitor,
touch user interface
and physical controls can be accessed with gloves on
and when draped for sterile procedures
without losing sensitivity,
the user interface is sealed edge to edge
with a cleaning mode button that pauses a system.
To streamline cleaning and disinfecting, you press
and hold that 2D button for two full seconds
to resume scanning and activate that user interface.
The uniquely shaped physical controls were designed
for clinicians to improve workflow by touch.
On the right we have our imaging modes,
some workflow controls centered around the track pack,
and our most use controls on the left are gain
and our depth, our gain features
and overall wheel gain, auto gain,
and TGC on the touch panel.
To change the transducer
or exam type, you simply click on the transducer button,
select your desired transducer, and then hit scan.
These exam presets have been optimized
for just in time imaging,
but also allows for the option to create custom exam types
for clinicians and procedures.
The touch panel also gives access
to our patient information, our learned modules
and other imaging parameters such as center line
and steep needle profiling.
So I'm gonna go ahead and adjust our cameras here
with our heads up workflow on asano Site lx.
We do have secondary controls up on our touch,
our heads up workflow
where we can adjust the depth on the side here.
We can adjust that overall gain control as well
as adjusting the color box size and position
and your doppler tracing.
SonoSite has created a new generation of transducers
that offer our most advanced image clarity.
Included in this family
of transducers is a new curva linear C ten three.
The C ten three offers a high frequency curva linear
transducer with a maximum scan depth of 18 centimeters.
You can see the great resolution this transducer offers
and scanning a glenohumeral joint on the posterior shoulder.
Our linear L 19 transducer highlights our highest
frequency transducer cyte has ever offered at 19 megahertz.
I'm gonna go ahead and have you spin around here for me
and I'm just gonna adjust Kate here
and I'm gonna have you put your arm up there
with a small footprint
and a minimum scan depth of one centimeter.
I'm gonna go ahead and adjust our transducer here
to our nerve preset
to show you the median nerve on the L 19.
As you can see the resolution with this L 19
and that median nerve, it allows you to see all those fales
within that median nerve.
The exam presets have been optimized
to provide just in time imaging
to whichever exam preset you want.
So we'll switch over to our MSK preset and we'll jump down
and visualize the flexor tendon.
I'm just gonna bring that depth up to adjust as needed
and you can see there that flexor tendon
and watch that dynamic movement as we move the tip of
that finger and all those striations
within the tendon there.
The L 19 is also
great transducer for a peripheral IV and vascular access.
So I'm gonna switch over to our actual PIV exam preset,
and as you can see,
I'm gonna grab some more gel here up on the arm.
Bring that depth back up.
As you can see, it provides that just in time imaging
and resolution you need for those veins
to assist with some of our procedures.
We have our center line for vascular access
and PIV that creates that dotted line down the center
of the image that will correlate to the line on all
of our transducer as an external guide.
So you can go ahead and adjust, line up your vein
or vessel with that line
and be able to use that external visual approach.
For our in plain procedures, we offer
what we call steep needle profiling.
I'm gonna have you sit back, so I have a phantom here
to kind of show you that steep needle profiling.
This allows a system to enhance visualization
of the needle when in the sound beam.
The pictograms on the user touch interface allow
for easy selection,
whether you coming from the orientation side
of the transducer or the non orientation side
of the transducer.
So I'm gonna adjust this down on my phantom here,
and we are going to adjust the depth in the gain just a
little bit for the sake of the phantom and zoom.
And I'm gonna go ahead and turn that needle profiling on
with just a click of a button.
As you can see, that yellow box come up on the screen
and my needle will be directed towards coming in
and directed towards that dotted line.
So you can see there the steep needle profiling.
And I'm gonna go ahead and reach over
and turn this off as I try to hold still here, just
so you can see the difference
that we'll make when visualizing those needles.
