Why AI in POCUS?
POCUS is fast, portable, and effective – but interpretating ultrasound requires experience and consistency, and we believe that AI can help. We seek to collaborate with clinicians to achieve solutions that best meet user needs:
- Which questions matter most at the bedside?
- What does reliable data look like in practice?
- How should AI behave in complex, noisy environments?
- How to ensure AI improves – not replaces – clinical judgement.

What Support Does Sonosite Offer?
Sonosite is committed to supporting high-impact AI research collaborations through:
- Loaner systems (PX, LX and ST) for eligible research sites
- Access to technical support and AI development teams
- Potential funding for select proposals – an itemized budget must be provided.
- Collaboration on co-publications.
All support is formalized through a research agreement outlining roles, resources, and deliverables.
Ways to Get Involved
We are inviting experienced clinicians, educators and researchers to collaborate with us to:
- Contribute annotated ultrasound datasets
- Partner on validation and testing of AI models
- Co-develop clinical research or peer-reviewed publications
- Participate in user testing and feedback cycles
- Present use cases or workflows where AI could improve POCUS utility
