Bothell, WA, October, 24, 2014 (Booth # 1413) – FUJIFILM SonoSite, Inc., the world leader and pioneering specialist in bedside and point-of-care ultrasound, will showcase educational offerings and its high-resolution ultrasound kiosk, the X-Porte™ for healthcare professionals working in critical care environments at the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) Conference on October 25 – 30 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX.
"Bedside ultrasound has become a valuable tool for physicians working in critical care environments to obtain immediate clinical information, improve patient safety, increase efficiency, and decrease complications," said Diku Mandavia, MD, FACEP FRCPC, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, FUJIFILM SonoSite Inc. "Fujifilm has been active in critical care ultrasound for many years and has designed its products with extensive input from intensivists. With Fujifilm, you're accessing far more than a quality medical device—you're also accessing our acclaimed package of ongoing customer, clinical, and educational services."
Customers can count on continual innovation and comprehensive services provided by Fujifilm. The following will be featured at CHEST:
- FUJIFILM SonoSite will showcase its high-resolution ultrasound kiosk, the X-Porte™ and five new transducers, including: C11xp, C35xp, HFL 38xp, HSL25xp and P10xp. X-Porte was designed to cure side-lobe imaging artifacts, through a new type of technology never before used in an ultrasound system: SonoSite's proprietary Extreme Definition Imaging™ (XDI). XDI is a new beam forming algorithm that significantly reduces the visual clutter from side-lobes that affect all ultrasound products regardless of system size. The resulting ultrasound image appears cleaner with optimal tissue differentiation. The technological innovations are a result of the feedback and experiences of hundreds of clinicians that were observed during the development of the ultrasound kiosk.
- The popular SonoAccess™ educational app, a free mobile device application that provides the healthcare community with access to a multimedia library of ultrasound resources will also be showcased. The new SonoAccess 2.0 app includes instructional videos, clinical image galleries and a variety of case studies. FUJIFILM SonoSite redesigned the app from the ground-up based on collaboration from existing users, added more features and workflow improvements, and extended its reach to include all Apple and Android phones and tablets. To download the SonoAccess app, please visit iTunes or Google Play.
- FUJIFILM SonoSite Solutions will also be promoted at the scientific assembly. The program includes a guidebook and resource center that provides healthcare professionals with practice guidelines, procedure protocols, key metrics for benchmark success, educational videos and more.
