Anniversaries are times to celebrate, but also times to reflect. At FUJIFILM Sonosite, we’re thrilled to recognize the one-year anniversary of the launch of Sonosite PX, our next generation point-of-care ultrasound system (POCUS) with the most advanced image clarity ever seen in a Sonosite system.
As we mark the one-year milestone of bringing Sonosite PX to market, we want to reflect on just a few of the significant achievements that our robust POCUS system is credited with during this past year.
For starters, Sonosite PX made its entrance during one of the most challenging times for healthcare organizations across the globe. Doctors and patients were experiencing the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic when Sonosite PX rolled into hospitals and healthcare systems across the nation.
Its powerful capabilities—and its portability—proved to be very valuable in evaluating COVID and non-COVID patients. Sonosite PX was at the ready during a time when clinicians needed to get answers quicker and faster than ever before, no matter where that patient was located—in the ED, OR, or at the bedside.
Also noteworthy, in the past year, our Sonosite PX system was used in the study of POCUS efficacy in diagnosing and treating COVID-19 patients in the ICU, as well as ways POCUS can be used in the follow-up and management of COVID patients. FUJIFILM Sonosite partnered with the CHEST Foundation, the charitable arm of the American College of Chest Physicians, donating our Sonosite PX equipment and contributing financial grants to two dedicated researchers studying various uses of ultrasonography on COVID-19 patients.
Passionate about studying POCUS’ role in the fighting of multi-organ diseases, FUJIFILM Sonosite also partnered with the Emergency Medicine Foundation on the EMF COVID-19 Research Grant program. Through the collaboration, we contributed a $90,000 research grant and a Sonosite PX system to this important program. The EMF’s COVID-19 grant is being used to conduct research with the participation of emergency medicine physicians, and to provide high-impact, new knowledge to advance emergency patient care, improve response of healthcare EMS systems, and protect emergency medicine healthcare professionals during pandemics.
We can also say with pride that Sonosite PX made great strides during COVID-19—for the benefit of COVID-19 patients and the physicians who treat them. Meanwhile, clinicians across the nation are also celebrating the simpler things that make Sonosite PX so special.
Built to be durable, reliable and easy to use, Sonosite PX makes their jobs easier. What’s more, Sonosite PX was also designed and inspired by clinicians on the front lines of medicine, focusing on how they use ultrasound at the bedside, no matter where that bedside happens to be.
Clearly, there’s a lot to celebrate about Sonosite PX. But like a good marriage, we know that every anniversary is also an opportunity to renew our commitment and double-down on our efforts to be the best partner we can be……Happy Anniversary, and thanks to all our customers for trusting us.
