This course is designed for VA anesthesiologists and CRNAs who want to enhance their ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques for managing post-operative pain and opioid reduction.

Course Objectives

  • Discuss ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques for opioid reduction
  • Improve proficiency of blocks within ERAS protocols with hands-on scanning of live models
  • Enhance needle visualization skills with hands-on practice using tissue phantoms

7:30 - 8:00 a.m. - Registration
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Overview of blocks (TAP, Pecs I & II, Adductor Canal, Interscalene)
9:00 - 10:30 a.m.- Break into small groups for hands-on scanning
10:30 - 10:45 a.m.- Break
10:45 - 11:45 a.m. - Hands-on scanning
11:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Q & A
