Medical Innovations Series 2008
Do you have difficult venous access patients in your practice?
Ever have problems cannulating the internal jugular vein?
Or have you inadvertently punctured the carotid artery?
Want to perform safer paracentesis? thoracentesis? pericardiocentesis?
Instead of performing procedures in the typical "blind" or landmark fashion now add vision and see the relevant anatomy using point-of-care ultrasound.
SonoSite invites you to a special state of the art lecture on integrating ultrasound technology into bedside invasive procedures. In this session learn how venous access and other commonly performed "blind" procedures can be much safer and more successful using basic sonographic guidance. This program will cover both central and peripheral venous access, relevant patient safety guidelines as well as other invasive procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis, joint aspiration and much more. In addition, have your questions directly answered by experts in the field, and practice hands-on scanning at dedicated ultrasound demonstration stations. No existing knowledge of ultrasound is expected and implementation strategies will be covered.
