Target Audience: Physicians who want to learn basic echocardiography procedure skills and entry level interpretation. Sonographers or other health care professionals learning to perform adult echocardiography procedures.
Advanced Health Education Center’s Echocardiography/Cardiac Doppler on-site training is an eight day training course which can be designed to meet the specific needs of the participant. The course provides participates the fundamental knowledge and skill required to perform echocardiography/cardiac Doppler procedures. The course is conducted with focused didactic lectures followed by supervised hands on scan lab with live models. The course topics include ultrasound physics, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology and EKG, equipment orientation, anatomy and physiology, 2-D imaging, M-Mode, acquired heart disease, Doppler instrumentation and controls, Doppler “normal”, cardiac quantification, cardiac Doppler in disease, special procedures and contrast echocardiography. The course can be customized to the client’s needs based on the skill level of the participants.
