Course Description: The two-day introductory course is designed to teach those who have little or no experience in the use of ultrasound in their normal daily practice. The course comprises of didactic lectures on the physics of ultrasound, ultrasound anatomy and regional anaesthesia techniques. The lectures and hands-on sessions will concentrate on the brachial plexus, upper and lower limb blocks.
Participants are limited to 24, with 5 ultrasound machines available to allow intensive training in ultrasound techniques and US guided needle placement of in-vitro models.
Each participant will receive a copy of the book "Ultrasound Guidance for Nerve Blocks: Principles and Practical Implementation" by Prof Peter Marhofer.
